Checks whether TCP ports on a host accept connections. Each port is opened and closed immediately without sending data, so no service is exercised. A browser cannot open raw sockets, so the probe runs through this site’s diagnostic endpoint: one host and at most ten ports per request, public addresses only, and strictly rate limited. Only test hosts you run or have written permission to test — probing other people’s systems may be unlawful.
Required. Port probing systems you do not run may be unlawful.
